KIPPRA Support Staff

Maina Njoroge
Finance & Administration Manager. Mr. Njoroge holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and MBA (Finance) from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, CPA(K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He has previously worked at senior management level as an accountant, rising to the position of Senior Accountant, Chief Accountant and Finance & Administration Manager in manufacturing and educational/investment organizations. He joined KIPPRA on 1 December 2006 from a leading educational/investment company, where he worked as Finance & Administration Manager/Board Secretary for several years. He has over 15 years’ work experience in financial, human resource management and strategic planning. At KIPPRA, he heads the finance and administrative functions.

Wambui Wagacha
Librarian. Mrs Wagacha is in charge of KIPPRA's Information and Documentation Centre. She holds a BA degree from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Science from University College, London. She also holds a UN Advanced Certificate in International Documentation. Mrs Wagacha has 26 years of professional experience and expertise in the field of documentation and librarianship. Her area of specialization is the establishment and development of electronic library facilities, as well as documentation, information and resource centres. She set up the library of the Diplomatic Training Programme, Institute d'haut Etudes International, Geneva, Switzerland; and CODICE in CODESRIA, Dakar, Senegal, and ARIFU Centre, at K-Rep, Nairobi, Kenya. She has been a member of the Steering Committee of the International Development Information Network (IDIN) and Associate Member of the International Committee for Social Science, Information and Documentation, Paris, France. She has contributed to and edited several international works including the multi-lingual Refugee Thesaurus, the IDIN Manual on Computer Data-Entry and Retrieval, and the Index of African Social Science Periodical Articles.

Felix Murithi
Editor. Felix Murithi joined KIPPRA in February 2002. He holds an MPhil. degree in Publishing Studies from University of Stirling, Scotland and a Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences degree from Moi University. Before joining KIPPRA, he was a Lecturer and Head of Department of Publishing and Media Studies at Moi University. He has over ten years of experience in publishing.
James Kagwe
I.T specialist. Mr Kagwe is in charge of KIPPRA's ICT functions (Head ICT). He has a Bsc degree from Moi University and Msc (Information Systems) degree from the University of Nairobi. He also has a Diploma in Computer applications and Networked systems and several professional qualifications among them: CISA (Chief Information systems Auditor), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP 2000), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE 2000) from Microsoft Corporation, ITIL, Web Design Specialist (Html, Dream Weaver, Java, Microsoft Interdev, Fireworks). He has Certificates in Information Risk Management & Information Security Best Practice, and VSAT Field Engineering. He has 9 year experience and expertise in ICT's and Management in private companies like Kenya School of Professional Studies and Alexander Forbes Financial Services, where he was before joining KIPPRA.

Nicholas O Ogolla
Accountant. Mr Ogolla holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting Option) from the University of Nairobi and is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS). He has a wealth of experience derived from both the Private & Public Sectors, spaning over 10 years. Has worked with such Companies as Procter & Gamble (EA) Limited, CMC Motors Group Limited and Geopath.net. At KIPPRA, he’s in charge of Accounting Functions and assists the Finance and Administration Manager.

Remmy Kibet Koech
Internal Auditor.Mr. Koech holds Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from University of Nairobi and currently pursuing MBA (Finance) from the same University. He is a certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He has previously worked as an accountant with National Housing Corporation (NHC) before moving to Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC) where he was a Senior Auditor before joining KIPPRA in May 2007. He has wealth of experience gained from auditing of Public Corporations and special assignments in ICDC’s Subsidiary & Associated companies.

Jackline Kimeto
Human Resources/Legal Officer. Ms. Kimeto is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with experience in Corporate Commercial law both in mainstream legal practice as well as in the capacity of in-house legal counsel. Jackline has a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Master of Laws Degree in International Trade and Investments Law from the University of Nairobi.   Before joining KIPPRA, Jackline served as Legal Officer with Fina Bank Limited and has worked in the Firm of Iseme Kamau & Maema Advocates and the Stage Coach Group Plc in Scotland, UK. Jackline is seized with the responsibility of all legal and Human Resource functions within KIPPRA. She joined KIPPRA in July, 2006.

Peter Munyaka Munene
Procurement Officer. Peter is a Procurement Officer in KIPPRA since 1st October 2007 when he joined after working for sometime in the Office of the President. He heads the Department and is the Secretary of all Procurement Committees. He also worked with National Aids Control Council (NACC). He holds a Master of Arts (M.A) in Economics from University of Nairobi. He also holds a Graduate Diploma from Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) UK. He is a member of CIPS-UK as well as Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)-Kenya.

Purity Njeru
Edirorial Assistant. Purity holds a Bachelor of Education Degree in English and Literature from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Diploma in Print Journalism. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Arts Degree in Communication Studies at University of Nairobi. Before joining KIPPRA, Purity worked for Inter Region Economic Network.

Njeri Mungai
Library Assistant. Njeri holds a Bachelor of Technology in Library and Information Studies from the University of South Africa. Before joining KIPPRA, she was the Head Librarian at DALC Education. Njeri’s area of specialization is the establishment and development of electronic library facilities, as well as documentation, dissemination and management of information and resource centres. She has over 5 years experience in information management.

Helen Anyumba
Helen, joined KIPPRA in April 2008. She has over 5 years experience in Administrative duties. She has worked for the National Museums of Kenya as a receptionist and Apex Kenya as the personal Assistant to the Managing Director. Helen holds a Diploma in Secretarial and Diploma in management from Kenya institute of Management. She also holds a café crème’ certification from Alliance Francaise She has enrolled for a degree course at Methodist University Nairobi.

Philip Atonga
Driver.
Mr Philip is a Driver at KIPPRA. Having completed his ‘O’ level at Orero Secondary school in 1991, Philip joined Kabete Technical where he studied KATC. He then joined Orbit distributors as an Office Assistant, and later trained on driving. He has worked with Stage Coach Bus Station, Securicor Courier Services and Cementers Limited before joining KIPPRA in 2008.

Ismael Kinothi
Driver. Mr Kinothi completed his 'O' levels at Chuka Boys High School. He has attained the Government Trade Test grades II and III. Mr Kinothi formerly worked for the European Delegation in Kenya attached to the SPIM project. He has also worked for the Ministry of Finance as a driver.
  Mary Wangari Macharia
Office Assistant. Ms Macharia formerly worked in the Ministry of Planning and National Development. She has worked as a civil servant for 20 years, assisting project staff as well as the senior permanent staff, including directors, assistant permanent secretaries and permanent secretaries. She attended Ndugamano High School, Nyeri.
