Rural
Electrification Programme Levy Fund (REPLF)
The
Rural Electrification Programme Levy Fund (REPLF) was established
in 1998 through sections 129 & 130 of the Electric Power
Act (1997). The fund aims to finance electrification of rural
and other underserved areas. It is used for programmes relating
to the design, construction, equipping and operation & maintenance
of rural electrification projects identified by communities.

The
institutional framework of REPLF comprises the Ministry
of Energy, the Electricity Regulatory Board (ERB),
Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC - the implementing
agency), District Development Committees (DDCs), Constituency
Development Fund (CDF) committees and local community
committees for specific projects. |
